CAPCOM CLASSICS COLLECTION

REMIXED (what a mouthful)

My Take:

This collection is pure nostalgia for me. I was older when most first came out but I looked through the eyes of youth as I still do when I cross the threshold of an Arcade Game room. Granted I am sure that many if not all of these games are true classics but for my Arcade memories the titles that stand out are:

Side Arms:

SIDE ARMS

You are a jet pack wearing hero chosen to defend the earth against the attacking alien armada. Navigate through enemy-infested air space collecting power ups and taking on all comers as you blast your way to victory. I never really made it that far in the Arcade version, but now that free play is an option I hope to change that in short order. I thought the graphics and music really stood out, with an R-Type of weapon selection this was and is a fun game.

1941:

1941 : COUNTER ATTACK

Your goal is to shoot down enemy airplanes and collect weapon power ups (POW). You're only able to perform three loops per level and a bonus is awarded at the end of the level for unused loops. I think the whole 19xx series has been fun but 1942 really started it all for me.

Final Fight:

FINAL FIGHT

Your goal is to survive throughout the mean streets of Metro City and attempt to rescue a young girl from the evil leader of the Mad Gear street gang. I played this game some in the Arcade but I had what I thought on the Mighty Amiga a near Arcade perfect  conversion. This version received some serious playtime as well. Up until this came out I had only enjoyed Double Dragon but this game to IMO had much better graphics and the sprite was much larger and more detailed.

Other classics include:

Legendary Wings

Forgotten World

Black Tiger

Strider

Bionic Commando

Three Wonders

Avengers

Block Block

Captain Commando

Last Duel

Mega Twins

Varth

Magic Sword

Street Fighter

Section Z

Quiz and Dragons

The Speed Rumbler

The games really do look sharp on the High quality Bright Screen of the PSP.
